Find out how we manufacture our nappies and training pants

We reveal the composition in detail below and you can even download our analyses carried out by an independent laboratory, Eurofins.

Let us look after the details so you can look after what matters.

In 2019, the French National Agency of Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) reported that new regulations should be installed for the future of nappies.

The way JOONE has developed them since 2017.

What our nappies are made of...

If our nappies are both healthy and effective, it is because they contain just the right amount of material or component, where it is needed. Here are the different parts that make up our layer, to show you everything it contains:

… and what they will never be made of

Because we want to offer your children the healthiest nappy possible, our nappy has been made in the Vosges Mountains and is guaranteed free of latex, lotion, perfume and endocrine disruptors and is not bleached with chlorine.

The Backsheet

The outer envelope on which are printed our pretty prints is a polyethylene with a very light weave which lets the skin breathe as much as possible. It's then covered with a hydrophilic non-woven web to give a very soft appearance and then cut into rolls. It's made in Picardy in a factory know for high quality confections. The ink we use for out Prints is solvent-free.

The Fluff

Our cushion is made of fluff, i. e. cellulose from trees, whitened with oxygen and T.C.F guaranteed. Although it's not cotton, it's very soft. We're in the process of passing our certification for our cellulose. It takes between 12 and 18 months to get a certification so be patient: -) We were asked if our nappies are vegan... And the answer is yes, simply because trees do not eat living things.

The absorbent

The absorbent we use is called SAP and is used by all nappy manufacturers around the world. It's a synthetic component that comes from Germany. It's the only material in the world that can absorb up to 150 times its weight! We have developed a unique technology that wraps the SAP with several layers of synthetic non-woven fibers which creates a strong protective barrier while still maintaining absorption and protection against odors. SAP is not organic compound, so our nappy is not organic or recyclable. We must remind you, no nappy is organic because all disposable nappies contain SAP.

SAP

SAP is neither toxic nor dangerous to children. Our weaving makes it possible to better distribute urine throughout the entire nappy and thus to diffuse the reaction of the SAP, avoiding any "package" condensed in the nappy once the SAP has reacted to the urine. That's also why our nappies are not the thinnest on the market: it's to better protect your baby's buttocks with twice as much fluff as SAP.

Our commitments

The FSC® label indicates that the cellulose used in our diapers comes from well-managed Finnish FSC®-certified forests and other controlled sources.

Our diapers are entirely made in France, in short circuits, in an environment-friendly factory thanks to its use of renewable energies.

Our cellulose is guaranteed T.C.F. or “Total Chlorine Free”. This means that it has been bleached without chlorine or any chlorinated agents!

Our diapers are dermatologically tested to ensure comfort for all skin types, even babies. As with all our other products, no tests have been performed on animals. And that will always be the case.

What our training pants are made of...

Our training pants follow your little ones in their journey towards potty training ! You can check out all the details about its transparent composition below !

…and what they will never be made of

Our training pants are clean and strictly abide by our standards of transparency and quality : they are chlore-free, do not contain latex, fragrances, or endocrine disruptors.

Breathable backsheet printed with water-based ink

Top sheet

The top sheet is what comes in direct contact with your baby’s skin. It is indispensable for us that it combines both softness and efficiency since it prevents your baby’s skin from getting wet. It is made of PE/PLA, a bioplastic made from 100% of natural sugar cane and corn.

The fluff

Our cushion is made of fluff, i. e. cellulose from trees, whitened with oxygen and T.C.F guaranteed. It comes from Finnish forests which are FSC(R) certified. Although it's not cotton, it's very soft. We were asked if our diapers are vegan... And the answer is yes, simply because trees do not eat living things :)

The outer-sheet

The envelope on which our designs are printed is breathable to keep the skin in good condition and to allow air and water vapor to pass while retaining urine in the diaper. It is made of polyethylene and polypropylene which allow the skin to breathe as much as possible thanks to small inclusions.

The ink used for our prints is water-based ink and solvent-free

It's made in Picardy in a factory know for high quality confections.

The liner

This is the liner veil in contact with your baby's skin. It helps keep moisture in the inside of the diaper to keep baby's skin dry! It is made from PE / PLA, a 1 00% natural material made from sugar cane and corn starch.

This material is even softer and more natural!

The fluff

Our cushion is made of fluff (from trees), i.e. cellulose guaranteed T.C.F. bleached without chlorine or chlorine agent. For our nappies, it comes from well-managed Finnish FSC® certified forests and other controlled sources. It’s very soft, even though it’s not cotton. It is used to absorb urine and diffuse it within mattresses for perfect comfort for your child.

We were asked the question whether our nappy was vegan ... And the answer is yes, quite simply because it does not contain any animal being (and that's good)!

The absorbent

The absorbent we use is called SAP and it is common to all manufacturers of diapers and diapers around the world. It is a synthetic component commonly known as sodium polyacrylate from Germany, which is neither toxic nor dangerous for children. It is the only material in the world that can absorb up to 200 times its weight!

As SAP cannot be produced in a natural way, it cannot have a biological origin. So our diaper and all disposable diapers cannot be considered organic.
